Hi everyone,

I have been getting used to my sclerals slowly. I was finding that my vision wasn't greatly improved which was frustrating. I had been contmplating the possibility that maybe glasses would help and then read a message somewhere on this site from someone who had done the same thing with positive results. Well I took the plunge and explained my situation to my local optician, she was really helpful. Anyway I had the eyetest and voila I now have distance glasses and reading glasses and best of all I can drive my car again which has given me back that bit of independace I thought I'd lost for good. I had my eyes tested while wearing my sclerals as I am determined to try and wear them more during the day and keep the corneals for early morning and evening wear.

Here's wishing everyone a happy summer and hope that all your problems are soon resolved.

Hi Lesley

Congratulations on the success, it is always good to hear the success stories too.

Hi Lesley, Welcome to the Club! I also wear sclerals but find that they do not give me such good visual acuity as my corneals used to, so I also wear glasses with the sclerals for driving/pc/reading etc. The rest of the time I can manage without the specs which is good. Isn't it great when you finally manage to find a solution that works for you?

The unfortunate thing about KC is that it seems to change all the time, so when one option stops working, its back to the drawing board again, to find another. But, hey, that's life! Think it makes all us KCers very patient people, as well as very determined! Take care and good to hear that you are doing well. SUE
