Hi,
I have been wearing sclerals for about 7 years now and have had various ups and downs with them in this time. Ive noticed that my left grafted eye is not tolerating the lens like it used too. My eye starts to become red and quite sore/stingy at the bottom and can start to water after a few hours to the point where i have to take the lens out. My right eye vision with a scleral isnt great as there is a huge scar across the cornea.......which is tricky as i rely on my left to drive/work etc.
Do you think the lens may be fitting too closely on the cornea rather than the sclera? I have an appointment on the 6th June so cant wait for it to come round and find out whats going on.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated as im a little worried
many thanks in advance

scleral causing a red and sore eye?

Re: scleral causing a red and sore eye?
I had similar issues about 9 months ago and ended up getting a new scleral lens which further cleared the cornea. Even under inspection it seemed like my old lens was adequately clearing the cornea but after maybe 2 days continuous of wearing the lens I would get similar symptoms to those that you describe. It obviously could be something completely different which is causing your symptomss but that's my recent experience anyway.
