8) I'm thinking of going on holiday to Egypt to see ancient monuments etc.
i wear gas permeable lenses and am worried about getting dust/sand behind them. I will wear sun glasses
Does anyone have experience as to whether it will be much of a problem and what can be done about it. Any suggestions, thoughts etc. will be much appreciated. 8)

Hi Roger,
I have just returned from Egypt, and as a fellow RGP lens wearer I shared your concern before I went. I really didn't have too much problem with it when I was there. I think because the air was so still that the sand/dust wasn't airbourne in great quantities. I found that by keeping sunglasses on, and having some eyedrops handy in case (even though I never needed them) everything seemed to be OK.

While at the KC confrence I was told about some sunglasses that can be purchased in Egypt and such countries that the locals use that keep dust out of your eyes.

I use safety glasses which are better than any sunglasses I have found to date and they do not cost too much. They also give full UV A & B protection.

http://www.northsafety.com and the glasses are the Tornado range. They are designed for outdoor use in outdoors and dusty conditions.

Hi Jay,

Absolutly no idea, I get mine through work who get them from http://www.fisherscientific.com which have a distribution 3 miles from where I work! I know you can buy online from them, but do not know if they sell to the general public.
