Some of you may know me as a Committee member of the Keratoconus Group. I am running the London 10K run on 3 July. I hope to raise some funds for the Group, to help support activities such as running the website, organising conferences, producing info et etc. The challenge is a double one for me as I had knee surgery 18 months ago and a graft 16 years ago. Grateful for any donations large or small. Please send cheques payable to the 'Keratoconus Group' to

I'd just like to add to Mark's post: if anyone does want to donate or to sponsor Mark, if you could also fill in a Gift Aid form (
here) we'll be able to claim tax back on your donation!

What's going on out there? Mark, who does a huge amount for the KC Group producing our newsletters and all our publications is currently running his legs off trying to raise money for the group. And the reaction from our membership? Nothing! One message of support from another committee member and stony silence from everyone else. No pledges of support, let alone a single cheque! If you want the KC group to continue, to carry on organising conferences and meetings, to carry on producing and distributing information, to carry on giving support, please, please, get your cheque books out and write a cheque to the Keratoconus Group and send it to PO Box 26251, London W3 9WQ. Please help us to keep going, and show your appreciation of the effort Mark is making on our behalf!

Hi
I agree; to be honest I didnt even see this post!
Possibly make it a sticky and capitalise the heading......is it worth setting up a form of electrical payment for the group on the whole?......

Yes i agree as well. The only reason i haven't been so forthcoming with money is that right now i am on sick pay and i can't live on that as it is! Ten weeks off work and i'm struggling.
But ... you are right some support in replying wouldn't have gone amiss! So Mark good luck! I dropped out of being in the first aid tents because i can't see well enough, otherwise i would have been there watching you all run past!!! LOL!!
Have fun!

Run... completed

I completed the London 10K run this morning in a reasonable time of 61 mins and 45secs. Eyes and knee held up ok, but calf strain made it a painful run all the way.
Although I starting fundraising for this event rather late I still hope to generate some much needed funds for the Group. All donations gratefully received. Please send to group address as per Anne's post. I will post photograhic evidence of me with my medal on the main site soon.
Raising funds for the Group is important, without money we would not be able to run the website, produce publications, organise and fund conferences and generally assist others with keratoconus. So please dig deep.
Very tired Mark

Hi Mark
Congrats on running and completing the 10K ! Felt suitably chastened after Anne's post and so have sent a cheque today with a gift aid form. Keep up the good work and let's hope my little contribution prompts many more..........
Well done!!!!
Richard
