synereyes lens problem

Postby nattyb1234 » Thu 24 Feb 2011 5:14 pm

Hiya,

Not sure if anyone has experienced this. I wear a synereyes lens in my right eye. My left eye is recovering from a graft so i don't use it at moment.Although the vision is really good every so often I get a big problem with a build up of something that sticks to the lens. it is like stringly glue that collects in the eye and eventually makes my lens so uncomfortable that i have to take it out. This once went on for a week and I couldn't work as my eye got so sore. It is now always there and i have to clean my lens about 4 times a day. Sometimes its bearabole but sometimes not and its controlling my life at the moment.

please help xxx

Hello Natty and welcome to the forum!
I hope some Synergeyes users will be along shortly and may be able to help. Have you told your contact lens fitter about the problems you're having? I hope you can get something sorted out.
All the best
Anne

Yes i've been round in circles between gp, consultant and contact specialist, no one seems to know what causes it or how to get rid of it.

I dont know if I can be of any help. So can I start by asking which Synergeyes lens it is and what solutions for cleaning and inserting you use etc.

Bore us with as much detail as you can.

I am a Synegeyes ClearKone wearer.

Hi there,

I am just wondering if you have been able to find a solution to this. I am having more or less the same problem but with my RGP lens. I am piggy backing but it is only the RGP lens in my right eye that keeps clouding over. Again both Consultants are at a loss as to why?

thanks,
Amanda

There are a couple of instances when I have had this.

The build up of protein deposits on my lens was reacted to badly in my eyes.

Another time I used a lot of drops due to lens discomfort and my eye didnt like it the soft part of my lens was sort of Toxic

Another time I was allergic to my lens solution cant be any more help sorry.

i have been wearing SynergEyes for 2 years now they are the best lenses i have ever worn. after haven cross linking done on both eyes 4 years ago i could not wear lenses for more than an hour a day ,tried all lenses rose k,s02clear,piggy backing rose ks,nothing seemed to work until i tried SynergEyes lenses it took a while to get used to them. the best thing for keeping them clean and comfortable is to use a peroxide solution to soak them in every night called "ao sept plus" witch you can get from tesco. rinse them off with tesco saline solution, and then put a drop of all in one contact lens solution in to the lens before putting in to eye. i can now wear lenses for 9 hours+ every day. hope this helps as before i started doing this routine with the solutions i used to get them slipping down off my eyes and i had to keep blinking to get them back into the center which used to give me cloudy vision and burning sensation. now they stay center and i can see great they are very comfortable dont even notice they are in.i hope people can get the same results from these lenses  jamie
