Hi I have recently moved to Dubai and have been under the supervision of Sunderland Eye Infirmary for my Keratoconus for the last 25 years and manage with RoseK lens. Can anyone recommend a doctor or clinic for ongoing check ups and new lens persciptions in Dubai?

Chapman1968,

Welcome to the forum. I think that we do have at least one other member who lives in Dubai, so an answer may not be long in coming!

One other say of approaching this would be to contact your old clinic in England and ask for advice. The global ophthalmological community is pretty small, and it is entirely possible that doctors in England have contacts in a place as full of expatriates as Dubai.

Hello, I am new the forum. My name is Clinton Anderson and I need to get new keratoconus contacts. I will be in Dubai in the middle of April 2011 and woould like to resolve this matter. Can anyone please advise me on the available ophthamalogists in Dubai that handle keratoconus contact lenses wearing patients? Thank you very much.

Clinton, Welcome to the forum

I don't know that an ophthalmologist is the person you need for contact lenses. I guess an optometrist is the right sort of professional, but you need to be careful to go to one that has some experience of keratoconus and fitting lenses to keratoconic eyes.

Is there any reason why you want to delay finding lenses until you get to Dubai?
