Dental xrays - any dangers to KC eyes

Postby Charlottes mum » Wed 10 Nov 2010 5:06 pm

Hi.
I took Charlotte for a dental check up today - all's well. Our Dentist wanted to do an xray this time as Char hasn't had one for a while. People with Down's syndrome like Charlotte often have a couple of teeth that just don't erupt or hide in the gum and Anders wanted to check this out today by way of a full oral xray but I was concerned about the procedure as it's the first one she's had since her diagnosis of KC last November. He suggested waiting until I've looked into this as he wasn't sure either. No worries or urgency with it as he can do it in February (all being well).

Does anyone know of any contra-indications with this sort of xray and the KC eyes?

All advice greatfully received as usual.

Many thanks. Angie for Charlotte :D

Hmmm thats an interesting question. I have never heard of any associated risk but I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has.

I've had quite a few dental x rays, no problems with my eyes as far as I'm aware. :)
