Hi everyone.

I have recently been thinking about taking out a loan and going for C3R. Cant afford to pay up fron in cash at the moment but feel like I should have this done sooner rather than later to prevent the KC from progeressing worse, it would be good to have it hault or slow down at least. I have had KC for around 8/9years. Now 25years old.

For those that have had c3r done, how long does the whole process take? i.e did you need to take time of work for recovery after the process of drops/uv light etc?

After the C3R treatment did you have to have new rgp contact lenses made up and wait couple of weeks for them to arrive? or did the old ones still fit fine till the new ones arrived?

Im just trying to see how much time i would need off work fr this/ ifi can ge away wt it having done on a friday and going back to work normal on monday.
Or best booking a week off work?

i am yet to get in touch with accuvision, so will ask them the questions aswell but would like to know peoples experiences on here first. I am deffinately having it done but just need to think about my work aswell.

Also what is the average cost of c3r at the moment?, as no websites actualy list a price for the treatment (so i know what to expect, I have been told its a few thousand pounds by people, but unsure on rough figure...).

From what I have read
the procedure itself does not take much time (~30 minutes) however after it you get haze in your eyes and it will take many weeks or even months for the haze to completely subside
you can have CXL done on one eye and when it recovers you can go for the 2nd one so that you can continue with your work normally
and yes, you will need a prescription change after the procedure , most people have a slight improvement in eye sight after CXL however it is not guaranteed

Hi thank you for the response.
Ouch, didnt come across the haze part. In my work i need both eyes doing engineering. this sucks. cant really ask for a leave as i have just recently joined the company and is at a very busy time. but if need be i shall go for it one eye at a time but not sure how understanding my company will. after alot of struggle i have landed my new job so some of you may understand the situation with work.

Read something about keraflex which seems very interesting aswell. Might be worth waiting for that to become available maybe if it proves successfull...
