grp contact lens removal
I unfortunately fell asleep last night while my contacts were in, but only for a few hours and on waking i was horrified to discover one had gotten itself stuck under my upper eye lid, it was a painful and long period to remove it, is there a easy way of getting them out if this situation should arise for anyone

Re: grp contact lens removal
i think we have all done this at some point...shame!
i would load drops into the eye... gently try to move the lens forward by pressing through the eyelid and then use a sucker to get it out.... if you have someone to help you, you could get them to sucker it out while you look down and they lift your eyelid....
probably the best advice is to just stay calm.... but it isnt nice...

I totally agree, get some good drops & get a sucker - I ended up in casualty with mine stuck, if only I'd had my sucker the, it would have saved me time, taxi fare & lots of pain & tears!
Ebay is great for the suckers

you could also get a plastic eye bath from Boots, keep it at home for emergencies such as this and fill it with saline and place over your eye [open your eye] to completely flood it which could loosen the stuck lens so you can pull it out

All of the above seem eminently sensible.
I try to change the shape of my eye by pressing through my eyelid just beside the stuck lens. This lets the vacuum release and then I can push my eyelid under the rim of the lens and out it pops.
All the best
Andrew

OMG I must be in sympathy with you - last night it reached the point where I thought I was going to have to get a taxi to the hospital, it was stuck on like glue and no amount of fluid made any difference. Eventually came out and was very sore, that vacuum suction is scary!
