i had these plugs fitted and i think it helped. They put trial ones in first and then a week or two later put the permanent ones in. it is a very simple painless procedure... a little ticklish only. they are little pieces of silicone (i think) which the opthalm picks up with tweezers and slips into your duct.

i thought i would have problems with my tears running down my face, but it was no issue at all.
i suppose it is one of the less invasive things to try out
let us know how it goes

I have had both eyes and four punctal plugs put in, they started by just doing the lower ducts, to see if that was enough and then did the tops ones. I do tend to get a little flow from my right eye. But iwould say that it has made my eyes more comfortable.

hope it works for you
Sheila

If you suffer from dry eyes which imo is a KC related issue, punctal plugs are well worth trying before you try RGP lenses

Dry eyes is imo the cause of the natural reaction of eye rubbing - effect = KC????????????????????????

They never put trial plugs in with me.

BTW the plugs can and do come out.

All KCers should be tested for dry eye before being tried out with RGP lenses to prevent the inevitable damage caused by badly fitted lenses.

My key Q here never got addressed:-

I'd read that Steven. Unfortunately, I do kickboxing (which I wear my softe lenses for) so looks like I'll have to give up sparing...or get so good no one can get me in the face!
