Intacts and pain

Hi all,
Had a graft in my right eye at Christmas, it as been brilliant, without it I would by now be in a much worse situation. As it is my left eye seems to be giving up and me and has got much worse in the last few months. Can only tolerate a soft/perm lens for an hour or so and have given up really trying with it. I saw my consultant again today and we have discussed intacts before, but now i will be going a head with them soonish. He asked if I was happy to have it under local anaesthetic not general as he said they use both. The main problem being a discomfort/pain for about 90 secs or so and needing to keep very still. I thought I could probably cope with both, but was wondering if anyone has had the experience or can give any other advice.

Thanks
Soph

DITO on the situation....I had mine 6 weeks back and other eye is going downhill as well

Looking into Intac / Ferrara

I would ask you doctor why he isnt going with the Ferrara Option and also discuss the method of insertion..the laser channeling technique offers many more benefits and is now available in the UK....basically the surgeoun doesnt have to make the incisions manually..the laser does it this more precise and in theory more tidier...........also the procedure is done via the eye drops which numb the eye..........
