Eye red blood vessel line

Postby Pascalini » Sun 08 Aug 2010 8:21 pm

Just wondering if anyone gets the same

I'm 3 years post cornea transplant in my left eye. I recently a few month back had a blood vessel burst twice in the eye. No idea why but it may of been due to stress in the eye due to poor vision.

These both cleared up quickly however I find now I get one red line going from the corner of the eye to the cornea. It's not always there it mainly comes back after I'm concentrating on something like tv or if it gets a little irritated.

It's not a major problem but it does make me lose confidence as I look like the terminator lol does anyone els get this? Can anything be done to stop it?

had my right eye done in march, Iv had no end of issues relating to blood vessels since, for me they keep growing over teh transplant thus bursting from pressure, leading to infection that wont shift, stitches are all out to see if that alieviates to pressure in my eye, as consultant is running out of ideas.

feel free to PM me

I've had blood vesels burst in the past, either as they have been inadvertantly pinched while taking lesnes out or after a heavy bout of sneezing during Hayfever season or during a cold.

My hospital have always said that if it is close to the graft margin that I must visit eye casualty just to make sure it his having no affect on the graft. In the past six years been in 4 times for this and each time my grafts that are now 20 years old have had a clean bill of health so for me it is just a precutionary thing the hospitals would prefer me to take.

So far (touches wood) never had an eye infection as a result.
