When looking into light, my vision often looks sparkley like its flashing a little bit? I don't know why it does this-probably because my lens prescription isnt right and my eyes are trying too hard to focus on things therefore the vision goes a bit sparkley? However, unless I am thinking about it I can't really notice it?! and I think ive had it as far as I can remember? Is this something related to KC - your views would be appreciated as I am getting V. paranoid!!

That MAY sound like Floaters.....I have had that since I was about 11...I used to play games with them..as when you look towards a light you see these little things falling or waving about but are NEVER in the centre of sight where you are looking....

Not so sure Jay. I too have floaters and I can't say they're sparkly or flash at all.

I'm not sure what it is Tom is describing but I wouldn't think they're floaters.

Floater games can be entertaining on long journeys though...I'll grant you that.

Ha, yeh I used to find them well amusing!...in the morning as u get up you look towards the light and chase them with the vision lol!

Mine do flash when I look towards a bright light and then move down............I wouldnt say flash but as in disco lights but as in the floaters being more white then go away as i look away....

I noticed an increase in them in recent months and was told I have PVD so I have loads to have 'fun' with!

Do any of you guys have different 'layers' of floaters, like I have a blanket of really faint ones that I only see against the sky or a bright light and the thick, dark string type ones that sit over the top of the others???

When you say 'sparkley' do you mean like 'star bursts'? And by looking into light do you mean looking at lights or street lamps? or just light in general?

I seem to remember being told or reading that this was one of the symptons of KC along with 'Halos' around lights and not being able to tolerate bright lights.

I also seem to find that with my lenses in on a good day as long as I am not tired and i is not really late at night the effect is not as frequent.

How long have you had your lenses? Maybe it is worth a trip back to the clinic or opticians to get them checked.

Susan, I cant really describe it?! It sort of when I look at something bright or white, eg. a PVC window when the sunlight is shining on it, it sort of sparkles and its quite bright to look at. By the way, what are floaters? I havn't a clue, Tom

Mine are only really visable against a plain, light background but are pretty dark with stringy qualities I guess.

Sometime I catch sight of them in other circumstances. The funny thing is when they first appeared (about the time that KC reared it's ugly head), I honestly thought I had something in my eye, that I could wipe away, spent hours trying and must have done some damage!

Anyway as you say, you get used to them.

Yes I have a couple of layers of floaters - dozens of tiny black dots which I see mostly against a light background, plus underneath ( in each eye ) a much larger more indistinct blob which moves more noticeably when I move my eyes. I suspect that they are "floating" at different depths within the eyeball and appear more or less distinct dependant on how close up your eye is able to focus on them.............

I have read somewhere that it is sometimes possible to move these floaters to the periphery of your vision by moving your eyes energetically side to side or up and down and letting gravity do the rest, but have not personally had much success with this. Shame, as trying to follow the path of a well hit small white object - a golf ball - against a clear grey or blue sky speckled with floaters is becoming increasingly more difficult for me! Hope I am not going the way of your PVD....but at least, as you say, when you are bored you can play endless games chasing them around your eye!

yes golf would be nigh on impossible I guess for me!

I fi look at the sky..it's like a swarm of tiny flys above me!!

I wonder if I see more floaters as I 'get more' of them.....or as I become more short sighted and can focus more easily in my eye...ohhh questions, questions and a 7 minute slot 3 times a year to get answers!!
