Hi All
This may sounds dumb but its getting me down.
I have been using a long cane for a few years now as my mobility is pretty poor. Ive just been offered a guide dog but this feels like the end game now. I guess its like using a wheelchair when you know you can walk with crutch's.
I also hate the costs of the dog and that it is funded for me by a charity. I know they wouldn't give one unless i needed it but I hate the idea of accepting it. I know its going to get me more mobile than I am now and I really will need it for university next year.
What do you think.

Hello Mate
think you have answered your own question in the last paragraph.....
"I know its going to get me more mobile than I am now and I really will need it for university next year. "
If thats what you can do with it, then hell yeh!!!!

Go for it Drew!
I expect it must be strange to take this as the next step however, if it helps with the mobility I personally would say go for it.
I would expect the dog to be a good companion and very loyal and loving. I am not sure if you like dogs or have owned one before s a pet, sometimes they can have more sense than some humans. And of course they don't answer back no matter how much you say to them.
Hope all goes well for you.

Hehe, well i said i would come back and reply to you so here i am!! I think it is a really good idea as you will be able to do so much more and get around better! And just think it would make an excellent pet, and you know it is going to be WELL house trained and not chew all your carpets!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!
No seriously i think that you will really benefit from it, and you know if you dont think it is a good idea you can always return him, but i guess you would be in love with him (or her!) by then!! LOL!!
BTW just curious ... but what are you going to do at uni! LOL!! Just nosy i guess! But i wish you all the best with your studies!!!!!!!!

Hi Claire
Im doign physiotherapy at cardiff. It will be fine just as long as I make sure I get my female patient correctly orientated and treat the Knees near the feet and not the ones near the head. LMAO!!

Drew,
Could be worse, imagine if it were a bloke with KC getting the patient the wrong way round
I could add something regarding lunch boxes, but I am sure you know all the jokes.
When I was at Uni, I started partially sighted doing micro-biology and being asked to look down a microscope.

Well chaps, I shall certainly be very cautious now the next time I visit the hospital !
The last two posts give plenty to think and chuckle about.
