New Poster Design

Just wondering what people think about it. I tried to select colors that are easy on the eye but still high contrast, it works for me, the colors I mean, but I'd like to know what the rest of you might think.

I took the liberty of changing and updating the logo a little bit, hope no one minds but I can put it back to the normal one if it causes any hassles

Image

It looks small I know and maybe a tiny bit blury but thats bc I resized it and text in a jpeg image sort of doesn't like that so it drops sharpness, which wont be on the final print. The original I'm working on is big and would just cause those on dialup a headache to view, so its just a sample, for now. But click HERE if you want a larger view.

When I'm completed I'll have the actual sized poster design available which will probably be around 2-3megs in either JPEG or BMP format and a couple of color formats depending on how anyone wants to have it printed.

LOL..I think thats Fantastic!!...Good on you mate!!

Just ONE comment from me

You know on the left with the faded right beckground and red writing......can you make the red stand out a little more?...as it seems to get lost in the background.....or it did for me and had to focus more on what it said!

You def go a skill there!!.....Well done again! couldnt do something like that even if I tried lol..I assume you are some kind of a designer?

Ahh and there some space you could use on the top right quadrant after the reg number and below.......maybe put some kind of slogan etc?.......something that gets the attention?

Knight,
i'm not dissing but some constructive advice?!?!?
for me it just seems too much red in colour... i'd like to see something witch speaks out to me.... maybe worth easing up on some of the colour...?
maybe worth mentioning the online 'forum'?!?
take the registered charity number down to the bottom, not as main feature of poster?!

Liking the new logo...!

hope it helps... i'll stop here!

It's great Knight,
I'm at the clinic on Monday would I be able to print one off by then or does it need seal of approval first? I'll take it along to see if they'll put it up.

No Of course, I consider all comments as constructive and I want to try tailor this to suit as many ppl's likes as possible. Having been in the design front for quite sometime, its impossible to make everyone happy so a certain amount of compromise is needed, especially like this sort of project.
I always start off with what I like personally and shoot from there, and I can see your point on it being a bit too red, which I can adjust.

Also jayuk, has spotted something I already noticed just after I posted it, as it seems a bit empty for my liking which I'll work on, but I dont want it to get clogged with too much info, thats the problem with poster designs trying to cram too much in, when simple works best as its more of a hint towards whatever with some contact details. And yeah I am a graphic designer, I know this design is a bit ordinary but it can be a slog working on 3D designs and I want this simple or else I'd be at it for 2wks getting really graphical, I use 3D studio Max (the same app they use in the movies) and Photoshop (the industry standard as far as regular design goes, no I hate Quark and refuse to touch it)

Pauline Houke, I will have a version ready by sunday for sure I would suggest if you're going to print this yourself use photo quality gloss paper and depending on the kind of home printer you have, the ends might be outside your printer's printable area, so just print the document to 'scale' and it'll leave a white border which you can trim off.

I understand this will need the seal of approval first before we start using it, but as long as the info is correct I think we can use it for now and replace it later on ... ?

Hi Knight,

I like the poster but have to agree that the red on red is difficult to read. Apart from that I think it's good. Well done.

Hi Knight, Its great that someone has offered to update the poster - it was definitely needed!

From my point of view, red is a difficult colour to read and the red on red is even worse! From what I understand black text on a yellow background is good for people with eye problems. But, then, of course, we are all going to be different, and as you said it will be impossible to please everyone!

I am not sure about the logo being changed - I am assuming that this probably needs to be kept the same as the KC Group is now a registered charity - something you will have to check with Anne and Mike.

I am also assuming that the final poster definitely needs approval before being let loose on the public! Again, better check first.

However, brilliant work and keep it up. Its much appreciated that you have bothered to spend the time doing this. Take care. SUE

This nearly covers most ppl's concerns I think and I've added slightly more info, as you can see I've also dropped some 'graphics' as well and simplified the design ...

again comments are welcome ...
