could it be true?

Hey guys!

I have been thinking :roll: , KC is often worse in one eye compared to the other. A possible explanation came to my mind when I found out that I tend to sleep on my left side with my left side of the face on pillow and my KC is worse in my left eye. Could the continuous increase in IOP be somewhat responsible? I am really eager to hear your experience.

Cheers!

that is an intriguing possibility! for most people with bilateral KC the condition is asymmetric (that is to say, even if we have it in two eyes it is worse in one than the other.)

Every good wish

This theory works for me as I sleep on the left (bad eye side).

The only problem with this is that Mrs Fordy says I snore on my back but thats the way it has to be from now on!!

Cheers

Fordy;

You know, in patients with heart failure, fluid tends to accumulate in right lung because simply they tend to feel more comfortable sleeping on their right side. I was thinking that there must be an explanation why KC is worse in one eye, we know about genetic, eye rubbing, etc etc but these factors seems to have symmetrical effects then one should look for an explanation of this assymetrical involvement of corneas, and this theory sounds logical to me, you know I tend to push my head hard on the pillow, and most of the times I sleep on my left, sometimes I think I even can feel the pressure to my eye. Anyways as you said, we better change to sleep on our back, although ald habits die hard!

Cheers
