Daily disposables!

Thought I`d share this with you as it might help someone.
I`ve been diagnosed with KC for about 9 years now,but although bad in my left eye is quite mild in my right.(Just about to have the graft)
As a keen Rugby player I needed a solution to help me see a bit better when playing,(not so critical when you are a second row forward!)
Not wanting to lose/break or end up with a corneal lens permanently embedded in my eye,I popped into my local specsavers and got a months supply of daily disposables (actually 2months because I only wear the one.)I play with the left uncorrected.
Okay ,if receiving a pass from the right,a bit hit and miss from my left..........
Somehow the lens lasted the match and I tried wearing for a bit longer, and to my amazement it stayed in place.I think it may be that the lens is so thin and flexible it moulds itself around the cornea.
Anyway, the disposables worked really well,so much so that I gave up using the corneal lens, and now use this or specs as my method of correction.Moorfields were surprised but glad this worked for me.
Might be worth a try (no pun intended),if you have mild KC and can`t get on with corneals.

Yeah I heard this before actually, as soft as 'soft lenses' are and depending on how conic the eye actually is, the soft lens can still 'mould' or correct the surface of the eye well enough to allow for good sight.

In the early days of my KC, especially in my left eye I bought a pair of novelty, lenses, those uber weird but cool 'night glow' lenses and wow, apart from some interested glances I was able to see a bit better but that only lasted until the so called botton of my eye became more protruded and eventually all the soft lenses did was mould around it offering very little correction.

But I hope you get a good run at wearing them best of luck!
