I am starting to wear contacts again for my new grafted eye.
Gas permeable lens and wear lens in the other eye for some time.
started yesterday with one half hour another today .........my eye goes very red ( white of the eye)
this is to be expected I guess as its first attempt.....with in 20 mins taking lens out full recovery
no affect on my vision.
any tips........I know NOT to over push it.....
just starting out again...........think its going to be a long haul....

I'm not sure that you ought to expect your sclera to show signs of trauma on putting in a lens. The fact that you have such rapid recovery on removing the lens is probably a good thing, but in your place I'd be heading back to see my lens fitter so that (s)he can have a look at what is happening.
All the best

I would go back and have them check your eye to make sure that it is ok. How long ago did you have the graft? It took me a few years before I could get a lens which was comfortable. It is a long process but you are now starting to wear lenses so it is a good start!! I couldn't tolerate a lens before it was grafted so it was all very weird at first!!
Best of luck with it, love Claire X x X

Turned out problem was the 'contact lens solution' and not the Lens effecting my eye
( I am starting to wear contacts again)
found out because i was just about to insert lens and a drop fell into my eye
and my eye reacted straight away.
changed to a basic contact lens solution and been fine now wearing lens
about 7 hours building up......
think the issue was with having steroid drops new grafted eye was hyper sensitive
to chemicals.

Ahhhh, I posted on your other post first!
So as you have already been back in contact with them, thats fine

Many people do not realise that a "bad reaction" to lenses can be as much to the solution as to the lens!!

I had a big problem with lenses at one time, and it turned out to be lens solutions rather than the lens itself. I tried a couple of things and settled on Amo Total; it suits my eyes.
I guess that for most of us, it is always going to be a question of trial and error, unless we hit on a suitable solution right off the bat!
