Its been a long time since i came here.
My graft was almost 2yrs ago.
I had the stitches removed 3 days ago.
I could read etc before they came out, but vision is pretty bad again now they are out.
Im so dissapointed .
I cant see things out shopping i cant read things.
Will it improve or is this it. Does it take time to settle do ya think.
Am i being impatient im just so upset.

Removing the stitches has meant your cornea has been pushed and pulled and so will take time to settle once again. Most of us post graft end up with glasses or contact lenses and with the advances in contact lenses you may well be rid of the RGP lenses. I use the new silicone hydrogel lenses for KC which also work for people post graft or one of the other irregular cornea conditions.

Give the cornea time to settle first.

I remember when my sutures came out being disappointed to find that my vision was worse than before. Now everything is fine; I am sure that your own sight will settle and that you will be able to get good correction with glasses or lenses.

All the best

Thank you and thank heavens for that Andrew.
Im expecting glasses and i am quite happy with that. But it was a bit of a shock how worse it has gone, due to suture removal.
I feel better now youve put my mind at rest thanks.

Sorry to hear that your vision has worsened since the stitches were removed. This is very common, and your cornea just needs time to settle down again. I hated it every time I had a stitch removed as my vision changed and not always for the better!

Take it easy and best of luck with getting lenses or glasses. Loads of love Claire X x X
