I was wondering how soon after crosslinking my son will be able to carry on with his normal activities.What can he expect in the following week with regard to how often he will need to take drops and pain killers.

Well, you will probably return to your normal life after a month or less. You'll have to take some drops for two months. that is the most common medication given.

Well I think about 1 week , but it depeds most of surgeons do it on thr and they expect you to be ok by Monday as the you only need 1 day off from work.

But i my case it took me 1 week on left and on right about 4 weeks to see at pre op position.

"Normal life" is such a problem to identify.

It can be up to around 6 weeks before vision is stable enough to be relied on. However, the vision can vary markedly from day to day and this itself varies between individuals and even from one eye to the other. Thus I tell patients to think very carefully about what they need to see post CXL and to assess how they are going to cope if there is a worse case scenario of their vision varying for several months. If you are totally reliant on computer work or printed text for a job, then this may well be tricky if you have CXL done on both eyes within a very short time.

Photophobia can also be a problem in some cases - again no-one can predict this.

As most keratoconics have a "better" eye, my advice always is to think ahead and try and do worst eye first, get it to a level (with contacts if necessary) that you can rely on to do the tasks you need to do and then go for the right eye. Most do not heed this advice (seen as too cautious!) and either end up coping just fine (if the better eye bounces back in function quite quickly) or are at least prepared if the good eye takes a while to come right.

Yeah for sure As Lynn said atleast 6 weeks .

When i said less weeks I ment just to get basic eyesight ad bit less bluriness

I am the 6th month and my topography is still showig changes after CXL.

While gettig priscription for leses it like hittig a movig target .

Do one eye at a time , depending on your life circumstaces take good time before second one.

I waited only a week , which was not a good decision but i was going home (Pakistan) and i wanted it all done and dusted one time .
