Hello Mawuko, and welcome to the forum.

The answer here is probably best left to your consultant; mine wasn't really keen on me wearing lenses until I had my stitches out, although I'm sure I could have persuaded her otherwise in the later stages.

However, I was able to drive wearing glasses from about 6 months post-op, so all was not lost!

Keep us informed how you get on.

Mawuko,

As John says, leave it to the consultant, as a leans in with stictches is uncomfortable. I had my graft back in 1989 time and not all the stiches were removed as the cornea had healed over some of them so the ends of the stitches were trimmed as far as possible. When my eyes are dry and tierd I can feel the lens in the area stiches are left. I have only had to go to lenses since October 2004, but I personally would recomend sticking to glasses.

The other thing is, as the graft heals, you may have very little astigmatism and be able to wear soft lenses.

Take your time and give the graft plenty of time to heal and settle.
