Re: London Winter Social on Wednesday
I hope that the weather does not prevent this from happening. I am looking out on a crisp clear winter's day with a light dusting of snow on the hills beyond the river, but I understand that the scene is more wintry in the balmy south.
Take care

No chance, a couple of inches of snow and the city ground to a halt
Better get used to it guys, global warming means the Gulf Stream will no longer give us our mild weather, we'll be knee deep in the white stuff in the future
For those who are tough, hope you enjoy yourselves

Re: London Winter Social on Wednesday
Here in London E10 it has been snowing all day, and if the snow on the top of my garden wall and wheelie bins is not 8" deep it is only because the local kids come along and scoop it up to make snowballs.
It took me nearly 2 hours today to get out as far as a bank that was actually open enough to be able to pay my Visa bill. Grrrr.
Then later I went up to the new doctor's surgery opened not long ago near me, to talk to them and re-registering with them rather than the old lot, and found no-one there and the door locked .... but only once had got up to the 4th floor - no sign at ground level, as one ight have hoped.
I'll be doing my best to get to meeting point as arranged - and will phone the Chinese to check they are indeed open first.
Hope to see as many as possible there.
I do hope, also, that I haven't jinxed this by talking about weather-busting mugs of hot choccie!

Re: London Winter Social on Wednesday
Hello Rosemary,
I'm not going to be able to make this evening as it turns out I've got a rather vicious cough come on over the past 2/3 days. I'm just hoping its not going to become anything nastier such as a chest infection but at the moment my cough is pretty nasty and lets put it this way, you probably wouldn't want to be trying to eat food next to me.
Its doubly annoying is this as not only is tonight out but I probably won't be doing my Krav Maga training tomorrow and in fact its triple annoying! A friend of mine who I was working with over christmas, its his 21st party this weekend!
Hope those of you who do make it tonight however have a very pleasant evening despite the weather and everything else.
Jez.

Those of you who do manage to gather for a London Chinese Dinner, have a good time. In West Central Scotland I shall raise a glass in your honour!

Thanks all. I still hope to be there with Rosemary, Pat, and anyone else who can make it. We'll raise a glass to absent friends!
