contacts on benefits

hi
i was wondering if i had to have contacts for KC would i have to pay for um as im on income support or because of the condition will i get them fully funded
as i know most people have lens through choice need to pay some money towards them.
i know it seems a stupid question but with reasent diagnoses.. my consultant was useless and still waiting for specialist appointment..
i have been feeling quite axious that they have left me with no information and you guys are all i got so bare with me for many questions lol

Hi Caragh
You should get your lenses free if you're on income support. Unlike people who choose to wear contact lenses, most people with KC have a clinical need for lenses, so can get them on the NHS (usually £51 odd per lens, but free if you're on benefit). Take along evidence that you're receiving it when your lenses are prescribed and you shouldn't have a problem.
