I was diagnosed with KC when I was 11 years old im now 27 and have worn rgp lenses since the, generally I never had any complaints, until recently. In february I developed acute hydrops in my right eye ( my bad eye), the condition was never fully explained to me. I went to the optitionwhen it first happened, was refered to hospital to see specialist, and 2 months down the line i am still waiting on the appointment, so until I came on to this forum i was in the dark about hydrops, I have been signed off my work for the past 8 weeks because of the sensetivity of my eye and because my vision is so poor but what depressed me most was , as a musician i was really struggling to read y music. luckly, the cloudyness has gone and my eye doesnt seem to be so sensitive.
It is really difficult to discuss this with family and friends because they understand my condition even less than myself, when I mentioned that I thought that my sight seemed to have improved in my eye, they reckoned that it was just that i hadnt been able to see out of it for a couple of months and i guessed they were right, i am now kind of excited after reading some of the other members stories about sight improvin after hydrops.
guess ill need to go back to the optitions now for a refit on my right eye because my lens isso steep that when i tried to put it in it wouldnt fit.if my sight has improve it kind of makes the pain worthwhile.
oh one quick question, could someone explain to me what scleral lenses are ?, id never heard of them and am wondering if i should ask my optition about them

I am sure you understand when i say that the lines disappear and then you dont know what note to play and usually end up with a note above or below. In the end after making the music larger i gave up, as i couldn't 'sit' on top of it, though that was the only way i could see it. It is sad and maybe with new lenses one day i will go back.
