Hi all,
I had my CXL done on tuesday just past. I was a little scared going into it, but once I got there and started it really wasnt so bad, the nurse was a little worried at first cause my eye seemed to be moving alot when i had the first 1/2 hour of drops done. But she said i did very well once they were at the uv light stage.
They didnt use the brush on the eye, because i already have an intac in this eye, and i guess they were worried about brining the intac to the service, im not sure what they used but the nurse said something like "do you want the hockey stick to scrap the eye".
I had little to no pain at all in the days after, which i was really surprised about, no extra light sensitivity, i have been on the computer everyday since. I got the "bandage" lens off yesterday.
(lol when he said ill be right back im going to go get forceps, i thought he said "ill have to remove that forcefully", mum laughed at the look of horror on my face when i mis-heard).
I will be going back to the doctor this tuesday for another check up, until then i just have to keep up with the eye drops and wear a cover on the eye at night so i dont scratch it.
So far, i happy with the way things have gone. Now i just have to consider getting my good eye done.

Re: Had my CXL done
hey, just got back from the doctor. They said the eye is healing nicely. I'm still surprised i had no pain really. Light sensitvity still isnt any worse, and i can drive and work fine now.
Really no improvement on vision, but i wasnt expecting that at all. My main point is to hopefully stop the need for a transplant later in life.
So hopefully now, my bad eye is going to stay strong enough with the intac and the CXL treament.
Now to work on the good eye!
I have to go back again to the doctors in 3 weeks, and keep my eye drops up until then.

Re: Had my CXL done
Congratulations on the very successful procedure. It is quite surprising to me as well, how easy your recovery is. I am very happy for you. I am planning to have my CXL in March in the Easter break of Uni and really hope it goes as well as yours. Which eye did you have the procedure on? My right eye is much worse and now just the left one is doing the job...
Well done again.

Re: Had my CXL done
Went back to the doctors today for the one month post op check up, they are really happy with the way things are going. There is now even a slight improvement on the eye chart, one more line! lol.
I'm getting really sick of eye drops, but i'm allowed to start stepping down the amount of Flucon drops, so three more weeks of drops,
.
I have to go back in 2 more months, then they will check the right eye again, and talk about getting the CXL on the left eye.

Hi Ozfiz,
Glad to hear the progress..
Have you started using lenses..
I am going for my first on thr. (left eye first)
Strange thing is some people say its too much of pain and some say no pain at all or very little.

Re: Had my CXL done
no i dont wear any lenses. there is no point correcting the vision in my right eye. because the difference between the two eyes is too great. if they corrected the vision in the right eye i would be falling over myself.

Re: Had my CXL done
Hello
I just had my right eye done 3 months ago. I still see fairly foggy. I got a new prescription in my glasses yesterday. Howevr I am still blurry. Just wanted to know if you are still blurry and how long it has been now.
He did say I improve 3 diopters of flatness. However my clarity stinks. Go figure:)
