Cornea Transplant Recovery

Postby tneedham » Fri 24 Oct 2008 4:20 pm

Hi all

This is my first day i have been able to use my computer since my PK on the 13th Oct 2008.

Thank you to everyone who left messages on the topic "my partners op is in 4 weeks i need help". the advice and good wishes were greatly appreciated.
The operation was a success. I had no complications and i am healing well.

During the operation and initial healing time we have been taking daily photographs of my eye and i have been recording an audio diary of my day to day recovery.
I have begun to copy this onto a blog site, both for me to keep track on how things are going and to assist others who are about to go under the knife into knowing what to expect.

The address is
http://corneatransplant.blogspot.com

please take a look and bookmark this as i will keep it up to date with whats going on.

Well done Tom. Great blog. Make sure you put some thumping tunes on you're ipod to keep you going in the positive direction. My better half thinks you should audition for a hammer horror with the red eye on the blog!

Good luck with the healing and hopefully you have a quick recovery.

Hi

I have just updated my blog with a couple more posts.

I have a backlog of memos on my dictaphone, and am only managing about 2 hours a day with my lens in my non-grafted eye, so will try to catch up as often as i can.

hi tom,
congratulations- your eye is looking great and seems to have healed a lot quicker than mine. it is great that you can see the stitches so clearly- they seem longer than mine, but VERY neat.
take it easy and enjoy the opportunity to relax
