Is there any Chairty Event that we can get involved this sum

Postby DavidF » Sun 01 Jun 2008 8:11 pm

Dear All,
I wondered if there is or are any Charity Events that we can all get involved this summer to raise money for the Keratoconus Group.

I remember a few years back they did a sponsored walk?

Any chance of doing that again or what about a bike ride?

I can organize it if people are up for it??

Just let me know please.

Many Thanks

David.

Hi David

The Management Committee is always open to suggestions from our members and supporters about ways to raise funds as this helps us continue our charitable activity. If you wish to organise an event I can send you the schedule that Mike Oliver produced for the capital ring walk in 2006. It contains some useful information like liability of participants, sponsorship and Gift Aid etc. Just drop me your email address and I'll forward it.

Regards

When I worked in a University, some students were sitting about in one of those slack times after exams but before the next bout of classes. I suggested they find something to do that would challenge stimulate or excite them.

someone suggested parachuting.

Someone else said to me, "We'll do it if you do it."

I made the telephone call to Cark Airfield (south Lake District) and before long we were all getting out of an aeroplane in flight! We raised thousands of pounds for charity.

All the best with the cycling project.
