Diagnosed with KC about a year ago and tried RPG's for about four months. I found them uncomfatable and couldnt get used to them so I traded clarity for comfort and went to using toric lenses. Have been using them for about eight months now and they have proved to be very comftable after the initial five minutes of putting them in. Even though they improve my vision quite a lot (mostly in the left eye I dont think they improve my right eye if any as my KC is more progressed in that eye). They definately dont give the same clarity as RGP's obviously. I was wondering if kerasoft lenses would improve my vision over toric lenses or would it remain the same? Have people with KC changed from toric lenses to kerasoft ones and found it improved their vision?

Really, the only way you can find out which lens is right for you, is in concert with your optometrist, trying different lenses and seeing which one does the best job. It may be that one person finds that RGP corneals are absolutely perfect for them, but that soft lenses or sclerals are just not as good.

As Andrew points out, you are asking an impossible question! Even if someone did swap and get better or worse vision, it would have no meaning as far as you were concerned. Keratoconus is a "designer" condition and as such, each case is totally individual, so unless you and another person had identical eyes, you couldn't really judge how a lens would work on your eye from how it worked on theirs.

What can be said generally is that if you get reasonable vision with a soft toric then the likelihood is that you would get better with a KeraSoft - partly because of the design and partly becasue it has wavefront technology that reduces your eye aberrations. Only way to tell is to have a trial and see what results you get!
