KC Opticians

Hi everyone,

my brother has also now been diagnosed with keratoconus and his current optician says they can no longer treat him. He lives in Epsom in Surrey and so I just wondered if anyone knew of any opticians near this area that he could visit instead? Failing that is there an easy way to locate a KC friendly optician (without having to ring round everone!)

Many thanks

Vikki

Hi again - I forgot to add that the list of KC opticians here on the site is extremely useful and mentions opticians that are not too far from Epsom, so if noone knows of any nearer he can always try one of these.

Thanks again

Hello, the opticians that I go to for lens fitting and check-ups was set up by my local hospital on my behalf. I see the hospital optomotrist at my local opticians. Your brother may be best to ask the local hospital of any local opticians that they can recommend or, as in my case, the local opticians that the hospital optomotrist visits for specific keratoconus treatment and lens fitting.

Hope this helps,

Alex.

If your hospital does not have a contact lens clinic, they probably have an arrangement with a high street optician who will be skilled in fitting KC eyes.
