Swelling after graft

Hello everyone, just wondered if anyone had experienced noticable swelling above the grafted eye post surgery. The area around my eyebrows is swollen, and skin tone is slightly lighter here.

I had a partial thickness graft 5 weeks ago. I have no pain from this but the eye looks a little bit more closed up due to the swelling. I wonder if it's something to do with the steriods.

Vision is not noticeably different.

I had a full thickness on the other eye nearly a year ago and experienced nothing of the sort, in fact I have pretty much perfect vision with that eye now - uncorrected!

Obviously I've made an appointment to have it checked, but my Consultant is away and I have to see the SHO and sometimes these forums are even more knowledgeable - through years of personal experience.

Many thanks,

I never had that effect, although it may be that the way in which they braced your eye open for the surgery has left you with this slight swelling.

Let us know what the doc says when you have it checked out.

All the best

Andrew

Sorry to hear about your swelling.
I had a very sore patch on my cheekbone (just below lower eyelid) and a bruise between upper eyeid and eyebrow that is still (!) just visible.
I was told these were where the instruments were resting during the op.
SOre, but not particulalry swollen, and were sore from the word go.
You could be right about the effect of the steroid drops, but I@m sure you're right to get it checked out.
