Eye Test program

Postby alvin18 » Wed 05 Mar 2008 8:30 pm

Hi. I made a PC program to test my eye sight since today every day now to recognize any changes. It is simple eye test with numbers. It would be great if you find some time and post YOUR results. There is 12 lines, where line 1 is the biggest character and line 12 is the smallest. My result was 7th...8th line with left eye (grafted in Dec 2007, without any lenses or glasses) and 12th line with right eye (non grafted), eye where about 70 cm (28 inch) from display.

You can find this program here--> http://www.martellorotativo.com/eyetest.html
Screenshot - http://www.martellorotativo.com/shot2.JPG

There is 2 download links. Recommended is the first link (Download exe fail, in rar format). It contains a file Eye Test.exe, download, unpack and launch Eye Test.exe. It is possible in some cases that it does not work. In this case, it is better to download the second file, which contains setup.exe file. Launch this and all necessary components will be installed automatically (internet connection is needed to download MS .Net Framework from Microsoft's site).

Requirements:

- PC
- Windows XP or Vista

I will improve this program in near future, for ex. adding possibility to save test results to a log file or something to see how thing are gone etc...

If you have any questions, then i'm glad to answer them. And please post your results and also mark which eye, when grafted etc...

All the best,
Alvin

Sadly I use a Mac so do not have the technology to run your programme.

It will be interesting to watch as people post their results, and to see if there is any change over time!

Yours aye

Well, here is results today

Left eye, 3.5 moths post graft - 8th line no problem, but double vision. Had to concentrate about 1 or 2 seconds. I see 10th line after about 10 seconds concentrating and focusing. Well not sure is it good result or not but a little progress...

Cannot download this at all. I just get linked to a page where I have to buy some RAR software to use it.

I managed to get this downloaded.
at 60cm from 12inch LCD screen I can see 11 with my right grafted eye (7weeks) and 11 with my left eye (corrected with RGP piggybacks).
is the program made so that it always appears the same size no matter what size screen you have?
my results seem really good, but they might be deceptive?
thanks for the program though, it will be interesting even to campare only with my own record.

Hi Matthew

Try to use right mouse button when clicking on the link, then choose "Save As...". It is in rar format, so you need WinRar, PowerArchiver or something similar to unpack. I will upload this in zip format also, because it is more known. I cant upload direct link to the exe fail due to security problems. Hope you'll get it!

Good question! Have to check this. I think size of the character now is depending of the screen and resolution....
But 11th line is very very good. Mine is still about 8 and my eye has been a little sore or tender last days.....

All the best,
Alvin
