Is anyone else having trouble getting these drops?

Thanks to my pharmacy not bothering to tell me they couldn't get them due to a manufacturing problem I am now down to 2 days supply and my GP says there is not an alternative

Craig - have you tried contacting your eye clinic, which presumably originally prescribed these for you? They might have greater supplies, or be able to advise on an alternative.

Yes, I rang the Eye Casualty dept and they said if I go in tomorrow they will get one of their consultants to prescribe something else. The trouble is it is a 80 mile round trip, but needs must!

The other annoying thing is that my village dispensary rang at 6.25 to say could I ring them about the problem in getting the drops. It was a witheld number and we were having our tea so we didn't answer. I rang at 6.30 but too late.

So now I do not know whether to go to the village tomorrow, where the dispensary does not open until 9, or to get up early and be at the eye hospital for 9!!!

I did encounter a problem getting prednisalone in minims. I now use dexamethasone in minims.

Is your local pharmacy part of a group or is there another reason why they are restricted in their use of suppliers?

I was on those too, are yours the one drop disposables?

Yes. I know it seems wasteful, but it means that I can get eye drops without preservative.
