ice pack on eyes=good

Postby timtim » Fri 08 Feb 2008 5:29 pm

I bought one of those ice pack eye mask things a few days ago, and I have to say it is the best thing I have done for my eyes yet since I got KC :D I use the computer all day at work, and I was dealing recently with a lot of soreness in and around my eyes. The ice pack has helped this immensely. I may be crazy, but my eyes feel so much better, and it honestly feels like I am focusing better now and more easily (I was having a lot of issues with my eyes focusing together before). Don't get me wrong, I'm still having a lot of issues with KC, but I just wanted to share my joy of icing my eyes. I do it each evening for maybe 15 minutes after work. Also wanted to share with others who may be able to benefit from it :)

Thanks for that,

I think I'll have to get one for myself. :D

Any recommendations of which type is best?

before I was diagnosed with Keratoconus, which was about 2 weeks ago, I was using an ice mask, and this helped my eyes as well. My eyes weren't as sore...

this one is a good tip :)

Wholeheartedly recommend the cool treatment.

My wife bought a 'Chillo' (cold pillow - gel filled thing) from a Sunday Supplement.

She likes a cold pillow in bed and seems to like this gel filled monstrosity.

However I soon found that it fitted well over my eyes, nose and forehead and soothed everything wonderfully.

Can't recommend it enough!

I've got a gel-filled cylindrical cool sleeve thing.
Meant to go round a white wine bottle to chill it.
Good for popping bottles of eye drops inside if I'm going out for the day. Also for putting round wrists that have done too much typing, or the foot that the horse has trodden on (!).
