Travel advice

Hello and good evening,

Im traveling to Central America shortly and wondered if anybody knows what can be taken aboard a plane in hand luggage ie: lens case, lens solution and lens. As this will be a long flight with 2 plane changes I will need to take out my lens and clean it during my travels.

Does anybody know if I need to get a letter from my Doctor? The lens solutions are not on prescription therefore they dont have my name on, like other medications. I also need inhalers for Asthma and creams for Eczema.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks very much :D

Hi Pinky
The rules are that any solutions must be in containers of 100 ml or below. Unfortunately, most solutions come in containers of 120ml! However, you can take more in cabin luggage if you get prior agreement from the airline and the airport you're travelling from AND provide a letter from your GP or your hospital. Good luck, and hope you have a great time!

Hi Pinky

It is also possible to buy small sterile bottles into which you can decant permitted quantities of lens fluid.

Welcome to the forum, have a great flight and a wonderful time.

Yours aye

Hi Pinky
I was in Boots yesterday and saw that they did a travel pack of solutions for air travel. I did not notice which solution it was, so it might not be any use to you but must be worth a look.
