Synergeyes lenses?

Postby timtim » Fri 01 Feb 2008 1:31 am

Anyone tried these and have anything positive/negative to say about them? I'm looking to maybe try a softer kind of KC lens (since I had lots of problems with RGP's) before I resort to surgery. I would love to try the new Kerasoft 3's as well, but unfortunately I don't think that will be possible since I live in the US and from what I hear they won't be available for a while. Interested in hearing about the Synergeyes, or any other soft material KC lens that would be available to me. Thanks!

I couldn't manage with them, but others have given them a good report.

I've been using a Synergeyes lens in my right eye for just over a year now with good success. I had been using a SoftPerm prior, and an RGP before that. I am now intolerant to RGPs in both eyes.

I tried a Synergeyes KC lens in my left eye last year but the comfort was not good (I also have INTACS in this eye). My OD theorized that the edge of the hard portion of the lens was rubbing on the INTACS or that the fit was too tight. For the last two years I've been using a piggy back system with a soft lens (accuview advanced) with an Intra-Limbal RGP.

Last Friday, I received the new Synergeyes PS (post surgical) lens for my left eye and it has been great thus far. The comfort is as good or better than my piggy back system and I am seeing two lines better (20/25+ now vs. a very ghosty 20/40 with piggyback). The interesting part is that this lens required almost no adjustments to power (the Rx is only -0.75).

It's nice to be only taking care of two lenses again! :)
