Hi
Has anyone been treated with Mini ARK as described at lombardieyeclinic.com in Rome?
'Sounds too good to be true so I am interested in firsthand experiences.
Thanks
All the best
Ian

There has been a great deal of controversy about this treatment, and some very heated discussions on the forum.
The place of this treatment as a strategy for managing KC has yet to be fully established, although my own instinct is that, in conjunction with other strategies, it may very well come to have a place. So far as I am aware, though, it has not been recognized as a viable treatment by mainstream ophthalmologists in any part of the UK.

Thanks for your quick reply Andrew.
The medical world is full of differing opinions which is a positive thing as it drives us towards cures for various illnesses but sadly it can also lead towards a seemingly blinkered approach. I would like to see a healthy medical debate with the pros and cons of each treatment option and that way the patient is able to make the right judgement (for them) based on intelligence rather than just opinion.
Best regards
Ian

I could not agree more. The key is that patients need to be in a position to make an informed decision about their treatment.
I am not sure that a forum like this is the right place for the debate to be held, but I am sure that the very healthy debate that has led to an opening of new treatment options like INTACS and CXL is always underway in the ophthalmological community.
One of the frustrations about trying to tap into the debate is that so many learned articles are restricted to subscribers to the journals in which they are published. I have sometimes wondered whether the group might not take out subscriptions on the same basis as University Libraries, so that registered users could dip into the detailed discussion that is constantly underway amongst the experts.
Otherwise we have access only to the abstracts, and that can be frustrating.
All the best with your researches.
