Techniques for removing RGP lenses?

the plunger is great but what are you going to do if you lose it, or if you forgot to take it with you when your out? you really should learn how to take them out without it. no one can learn it in a day, it took me about 3 weeks until i could do it. I personally just take the lens off the eye, its not the best way and not really recommended but thats how i do it. the best way is to use your eyelids.

They are rarer, but when using a plunger on an RGP (corneal) lens, I'd be happier with a "safety" one - they have a hole drilled through them, so that unless your finger is on the stubby end, there is no suction at the business end.

The last thing I'd want to do is to "miss" the lens and accidentally attach the plunger to my eye!

I have a "normal" plunger for use in removing sclerals, but am less concerned about that - as you can't exactly miss with a scleral
