...

I never had any success with them, but there have been developments since. Wait here and Lynne may come along and bring us up to date :D

Tim

Andrew is referring to me because I am a consultant for the company that makes these lenses!

KeraSoft is a soft lens for keratoconus and post graft that has been around for a good many years now. It was developed to overcome the comfort issues that can be found with rigid lenses. It is good for mild to moderate keratoconus and has mixed results on more advanced cones from a visual point of view. Lenses can be made with up to 11.00 of astigmatic correction.

The new version, KeraSoft3, has been brought out in a Silicone Hydrogel material which allows more oxygen to the eye. The design has also been improved.

If you want more details, the link to the company website is here http://www.ultravision.co.uk/pooled/art ... ART_296916

If you want to ask more questions, you can PM me.

You cannot buy specialist lenses online, they have to be properly fitted.

I have sent you an email with contact details for Italy

All the best!

from personal experience you've met the right person where soft contact lenses are concerned , Lynn white is excellent at what she does , i was always led to believe that soft lenses of any kind were a "no go" untill i discovered kerasoft and Lynn
i wont say that they will work for everyone as no two KC'ers are alike but it certainely worth giving them ago.. :D

just be aware that they wont be suitable for everyone though. My CL fitter fits some KC suffers with these but wont try them with me as i wont get the vision from them that i can get from other types of lenses. It is one of those things that what suits 1 person wont suit another.

In addition to what Liz put, I've been told by optoms a lens would not work beacuse of the vison was getting with the lens they gave me. This may well be true for some people, but so far for me this has been proved incorrect most of the time.

Fitting a lens to a KC isn't that simple and theory can quite often be very mis leading so I'd say for any type of lens never dismiss it until you have tried it.
