unexplainable astygmatismus increase

Hello,
I'm 23 from Bulgaria.
I have astygmatismus. Recently an astygmatismus increase in my left eye was diagnosed. In 1999 the results of my left eye were SPH -1,50 ; CYL -2,50 ; AX 58. In 2005 the results are SPH -1,00 ; CYL -3,75 ; AX 60. I had PRK on my right eye in 1999, the cylinder of the astygmatismus was decreased from -3,75 to -2.00 and itÂ’s constant.
My doctor told me that the only reason for increasement of the astygmatusmus cylinder is to suffer from Keratoconus. I was examined twice with topographer, but categorically no KC was found.
The doctor told me that there is another form of Keratoconus, which is very rare. She explained it as rear /hidden/ and that it cannot be located with topographer, but with some other apparatus, which we don't have here in my country.

Is Keratoconus the only reason for an increasment of the astygmatismus cylinder? Can u tell me something more about this 'hidden' form of the desease, where it can be diagnosed, what's the name of the apparatus it can be diagnosed with?

I need your oppinion and advise very much, as i'm confused with the problem of my eye.

Thanks in advance,
Victor Milanov
