Graft Update

Postby Anne B » Fri 09 Nov 2007 2:24 pm

Just thought i would pop in a let you know how i am getting on.
The first few days after my graft i was in a lot of pain and very groggy, much more than my first graft.
The eye was extremely red. i went back to Moorfields for a check up on Tuesday this week All is going well. it was mentioned that there had been a heamarahage in my eye (i didn't ask any question i thought i was best not to know!)But i guess this is why the eye is so red. my husband was shown what to look out for and as long as it improves over the next week it should be fine (and it is improving)
One of my stitches had also broken so i had that removed.
Not much to tell really, I have a new lens for my glasses(eye that was grafted last year) and i can see rather well. I'm not sure if the prescription is perfect though. So i think i may get it check by the end of next week. i thought i should give it a couple of weeks to get used to it. what with having the graft aswell i bet my brain is is even more confused than normal being able to see all these things!!!!

Hubby goes back to work on Monday so i am back to being full time Mum (scary!)
One more thing has anyone that has had a graft noticed the eye drops stinging more as time goes on. Mine didn't sting to start with but now nearly 2 weeks in they sting when i put them in. I am using Dexamethesone and chloremphenicol.
Hope everyone else is ok

Anne,
Thanks for your update, I am finding it very interesting as my graft is in exactly two weeks!
I am sure that plenty of others who are going down this route will getting a lot of benefit from your posts, thanks.
I hope your eye continues to recover and your Mum duties don't upset it!
All the best
