Tim,

The problem with silicone hdrogel is getting this material in a form that can be cut on a lathe. Until that happens the costs are prohibitive to help us.

There is absolutly no reason why it will not give good vision.

Watch this space

Somebody complimented me on my driving yesterday - they left a note on my windscreen "Parking Fine" which was nice.

I went to see my consultant yesterday. He confirmed what my hospital had said, that my eye was a much better shape (less steep) and that he hoped would progress further over the coming months. I didn't realise this but apparantly the intacs are put into a space that is slightly to small and as they expand your cornea flattens, and it is still expanding so fingers crossed. Still can't see, but it's early days and he has made some short term suggestions.

Good news - if on a slightly girlie front - is that I can now put eye make-up on again. Off out tonight and think I've got a little over excited - looking like something from halloween!!

Hi all,
Made it through the op ok. Was back home by 4.30.
Have a ton of drops to take and feeling the after effects of the anesthetic today but will give you an update soon.
Vision is blurry but pain and soreness is less than I expected.
