Does anyone know if there is a supply problem with daily soft lenses from Moorfields, I have been trying since May to get the correct amount of lenses. I am about to run out again and am sick of hunting around.

I am sorry that I can't offer a direct answer to your question. I think that this is an issue that has arisen before, and know that it must be really frustrating for you.

Do you have a fall-back position for an occasion when your supply of lenses runs out?

I can't help you with the question of supply of lenses from Moorfields as I get mine from my optician (Moorfields never offered them to me..........???) but I do know than despite what it says on the packet, you can actually re-use daily lenses for a few days as long as you handle them gently and clean & store them carefully with soft lens solutions in the normal way. They are not that much different to monthly disposables in terms of robustness! So if you are running low on your supply that might be a workaround in the short term.

Hi there! I get monthly soft lenses from Moorfields. They always ask me how many I need and only give me just enough to last six months. If I lose any or break one I have to phone Moorfields and ask if I can pick some more up. I have found that it is easier to say you will drop in as they never really get sent to me. We shouldn't pay for them as we use them for piggybacking but it does cost them in supplying them so optoms are trying not to give us too many.

Finally got my lenses last Thursday.

This took quite a few calls and a telephone call to PALS

They gave me a years supply and discharged me.

They say because I had not attended since January. My appointment in April was canceled they were notified. August I missed but my head was all over the place as my Father died the previous month.

Twice I have said no to a graft but they keep scheduling me for one.

Saw my GP on Friday asked to go back to Kingston as Moorfields only give me grief.

Interesting reading another post my BP was sky high Friday morning when I saw my GP, surely no coincidence, packed off for ECG that morning and given bp tablets.

Have complained to my Consultant, but on balance think I will be happier
if I can go back to Kingston.

Oh yes, they finally gave me a copy of my prescription, quality service.

How are you getting on with your new lenses? Sorry to hear about all the other hassels! Still a referral to the hospital of your choice may just mean that you come out of the process with a more apporpriate hospital appointment.

I hope you are not left waiting too long for your consultation.
