Eye Clinic or Optician

Hi

My KC is fairly mild, can someone tell me is it better to be referred to an eye clinic or just have it checked yearly at the optician. I have a good optician who has high tech equipment and was able to photograph the KC and will be able to monitor progress.

Both!

I attended a hospital based optometrist, AND I attended an ophthalmology clinic in the same hospital!

All the best

Andrew

I'd agree with Andrew... and I'll follow that up by saying that even if you do go to the clinic, all they will do is monitor your KC; your regular optician checks your whole eye health.

In your position, I'd be inclined to stick with my optician as they are so good and have good facilities... and go along to see a consultant on recommendation of your optician.

Hi

Yes I would definately visit a eye clinic as they can check the progression of it but do visit your optician as well as you met find glasses or contacts work for you

Thanks Helen :D . Some years ago I tried glasses but they did not improve the vision. When I had an eye test about a month ago thats when I found out I have KC, the optician didn't feel I needed contacts just yet.
