If you've read my other thread you will know I knocked the lens out of my eye the other day.
After some research on the net (from reputable sites) it transpires I will now be able to see ultraviolet light, part of the spectrum normally invisible to humans.
Would love to test this out, I wonder if the hospital will have a machine next week I can look at?!
I have special powers!

Hi Craig,
I like your attitude The way you are dealing with your recent setback and moving forward with a cool sence of humor... but just one thing though, not sure exactly if there is a universal need for **Ultra Violet Man**... not exactly the most practical of super heroes
Let us know how you get on,
Hari

Yes, I was down for a few days but not sure how much of that was still having anaesthetic in me.
At the end of the day I know things could have been a lot worse and the surgeon was very pleased the day after with how things went.
Even though everything looks smudged through my right eye I'm hoping things improve over the next few weeks as the cornea re-heals then at a slower rate over the coming year.
The lens is only responsible for 30% of your focussing so it looks like, tolerance permitting, a contact lens will work.
With regards to the UV condition, I will have to buy strong sunglasses as I have to avoid UV glare (e.g. reflection from water or snow) as prolonged exposure can burn the cornea. Good job I live in Britain then!
People without a lens were used in WW2 to detect messages being sent by UV by the enemy. So I am ready for Queen and Country if needed!

Craig,
You could get a new career checking banknotes for fraud! Don't they use UV for that?

Many Birds of Prey can detect UV light. They use it to spot rodent wee from a great altitude. Rodents wee a lot and leave an incriminating trail.
So perhaps you could go into the pest extermination business. You could even call yourself the "FALCON". Awesome.
It also reminds me of that Paul Simon line, "Believing I had supernatural powers, I slammed into a brick wall".
Its a shame Llamas don't have a UV capability:
Llama Man Llama Man
Does everything that Llama can
He can bleat, he can trot
He's got everything that a Llamas got.

Er...Ok, I'll have a think.
I know, how about reading lost property to see if they have marked it with one of those pens!
Actually, I think your sense of humour must be your biggest asset.
