As some of you will know i have been off work with acute hydrops for three weeks, it feels more like an eternity. Im thrilled to have turned the corner this week, no longer light sensitve though very wary still of bright sunlight. Got the clear to go back to work next week, :) get some normality back, alongside the hospital visits, eye drops etc. The last few weeks have been very stressful and scary and i've heard way too much to do with KC, mind you on the positive side, which is what i think counts, i've also learnt a lot and found an amazing group of friends, thankyou all. I know its way from over, this journey will last a life time. Got an appointment with Dr Sheraz Daya at Queen Victoria hospital, East Grinstead on the 5th July, does anyone know of him, been to him, apparently he is a leading specialist in the field of Kerataconus.Id love to hear from anyone who has, or experiences of seeing him, im terrified about it. The appointment is private. many thanks to everyone for being here, you save my sanity at times(if anyone thinks that is to strong a statement it isnt) and always help me remember i am not alone.Interesting how I found the group in a time of absolute crisis, im very grateful to you all :)

Becky,

Good news on the recovery. Sheraz Daya is well respected on this forum and he is a guest speaker at the confrence on Saturday 30 June. If you are not already booked, contact Anne Klepatz to see if there is a space left and you will get to meet the man.

I've just been signed off for a week due to a wrist injury which I recoverd from in 2004 because the KC meant I could not work for 3 months! So KC does have its good points

Hi Becky,
SOrry to hear of the ydrops.
I'm a veteran of 4 of th things - though I'm told that is very unusual!
Wosh I'd been able to take any time off for mine!!

Heard Mr Daya at the conference on Saturday. hopeyour appointment goes well.
Please do remember that you are still very close to the date the hydrops first occurred, and so it is stillearly days to make any firm decisions about what to do. They take several weeks to heal over, if serious ones, and van take a few months more than that to stabilise.
Mine all healed over with no need to do anything in particular, though the three in the left eye in particular have left some scarring, and left amy eye more sensitive and less tolerant of contacts for a few months.
Hope you'll have a result at least as good.
Rosemary
