Hello all! I just thought that I would post about where I am at the minute. Sorry that this is not all eye related.

After my disaster with my soft lens everything is now fine!! That was the most painful thing ever but it is all ok now and I am wearing my lenses again!

Sadly though while my eyesight is really well at the minute my general health isn't. I have had to give up working in 'A & E' I am not happy with this and spent a whole month trying to convince myself that I could do it and that everything will be ok. We did have a case conference after I was diagnosed with MS and they did try to tell me that I needed to work in a slower place but I am dam stubborn and didn't listen.

After having to phone in sick again though because I was too tired and couldn't function let alone work I decided that it wasn't fair on my work friends so have left. That was my favourite job and I was there for three years so I am really upset.

So ... now I am being moved to do some IT work in the department but this is bad as I have no skills apart from being able to touch type! I also won't be near any patients so this isn't nursing to me. It is going to be on clinical trials and data etc and John very nicely gave me a quick crash course on Excel as only a few months ago I moved from using Works to Word!!! So I am so far behind!!!

I am hoping that this move won't be for long but am now starting to feel a little more positive and thinking that I can learn loads so it is a good thing Work are then trying to move me to outpatients or something, I have NEVER had a 9 - 5 job!!! That would be totally weird!!!

I am sorry to leave an 'A & E' department as I love seeing new patients who then get treated and leave! It is a lovely place to work. I am hoping to make about three months without any sickness so that I can prove to a new employer that I CAN function with MS (I am starting injection therapy today) so am hoping! I would then love to move to Moorfields 'A & E' and have redone my CV and written a supporting letter already!! It would be a great place to work and I would get to meet some of you lovely friends as well!!! I will let you know how that goes!!!

Ok, sorry to go on here and thanks for reading! Am off to see my MS nurse who is going to go through these injections with me We learn something new every day!!! Loads of love Sweet X x X

If you do get a move to MEH that would be great. It would almost make a trip to clinic 4 pleasurable (almost!).

Phew! At least one thing is going well, although I know how frustrating it must be for you to be off work again.

Being able to touch type is not the same thing as having no skills! Excel is learnable, and your experience as a nurse will stand you in good stead in your new work.

All the best with your therapy for MS. Injections would scare me, but then I can say with absolute conidence that although I have had several injections in my life I have never given one!

I am really sorry to hear that you have had to leave a job that you love, I can understand how you feel as I have fibromyalgia and some days cannot seem to operate.

I truly hope that you get enjoyment and fulfilment from your new role, good luck and take care.
