I went to the keratoconus clinic at Moorfields a week ago for a regular check-up and came away with an appointment for a DALK graft in October.
I have had keratoconus since 1961 (aged 20) and this is the first time anyone has ever mentioned the 'g' word to me. It came as a major surprise.
It would be my left eye, which is not up to driving standard, I believe due to long term scarring. My right eye is about OK. It wasn't helped at the clinic by having the lenses in the wrong eyes! The vision was not as good as usual even when I switched lenses. The opthalmologist said there was scarring in the centre of my right eye which I suspect is new.
Subsequently I do not think my sight in my right eye is worse than usual. I would like a second opinion on whether i need a graft. Any thoughts, suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Roger
P.S. See you all on June 30th.
