What a difference a cold makes!

Postby donna » Thu 07 Jun 2007 9:38 pm

i have had a bad cold and sinusitis for the last two weeks and my lens wear time has been restricted to around 4 hours. Today I feel better and have worn the lenses for 8 hours :D I have been to my friends and to the gym tonight! Yay!! Now if I can keep this up and my new lens is comfy next week I can go back to work!

Donna,

We can all get really bad and sore eyes when we have a cold it's awful! You tell your employers you need to be off sick because you can't put your lenses in, but they are questioning this because you just have a cold!!!

Hoping that it gets better next week and you can put your lenses back in!

Best of luck with it, love Sweet X x X

Still doing well today! I put them in at 8am and they are still in now, most of the time I am not even aware of them!

I'm trying to persuade my employers to let me have a lap top. That way when the sinuses are a problem and I can not wear my lenses, I can still at least work from home.

If there was public transport to work, i would uses it and keep working even if I could not wear my lenses.

That would be ideal Gareth... you think they will let you ?
Problem with my job is it involves picking up service users and taking them out and about, I also start at 8.30am so without the use of my car I cant manage. I am going to have to try everything possible to prevent myself getting a cold, I had no idea it would affect my lens wear like that! I have gone from 4 hours 2 days ago to a comfy 9 hours today and yesterday! Amazing! The nasal spray that Eddie told me about really helps my sinuses, I forgot to take it this morning and I could tell!

One reason work don't want me to have a lap top is beacuse I do not get many colds.

Since having lenses, I feel the discomfort before the cold has a chance to take hold, so usually I can up the intake of fresh fruit and most the time things clear up themselves.

My diet is far healthier than it once was.

So there is a plus side to KC, I now have a cold early warning system.

Gareth

I was on vacation with my entire family (sisters, brother and their respective appendages and offspring). My nephew brought his lap top, managed to piggy back on a local unprotected "wireless network", (I hope these words have more meaning for you than they do for me), and spent a couple of hours a day in his office.

Actually, he was at the table in the villa's kitchen, but he was "virtually" in his office. So I guess your enployer would have the benefit of your presence even if your sight made you absent. ... Or, at least I think that is what you mean :?
