Stitches out, vision worse

Had stitches out 3 months ago, didn't faint this time!! Saved that until we were on the plane to go home and about to take off, but only my husband noticed! Unfortunately the vision has gone from +4 to +7. Anyone else experienced this? The glasses prescription made everything "tilt" so keeping to prescription in left eye only for time being. The left eye has continued to deteriorate since being grafted in 2002. It is now +5. Disappointing but still much better than pre op.

You are recording a change in prescription there which is not the same as "vision". Removal of stitches nearly always results in some change in prescription depending on how much "tension" the cornea was under when the stitches were in.

Vision depends on how you can see through that +7 with appropriate correction. Corneas can end up with a "plus" prescription post graft, so that isn't unusual.

When I had stitches out sometime the vision was much better and other times it was much worse.

In the end when all the stitches came out I had a corneal surface that made vision correction with glasses very easy.

Some of us have to go through the vision changes both good and bad before we get to the journeys end.

Wait for your next appointment, they may leave things be and you get glasses which give good vision or more stitches out which could also improve things.

Your cornea is still travelling the long road to heal properly.

Hang on in there.

Unfortunately when they tried to correct the right eye it distorted everything too much. Incisions were mentioned and even laser surgery!! There is a possiblility that the KC has come back in the left eye, grafted in 2002, which would explain why it is continuing to deteriorate. I know that +7 on in KC terms is minor, but I was hoping for better than that! Unrealistic I know, but that's me I'm afraid.
