my dad is the sufferer of KC.
He has been taken to see his eye specialist in manchester this afternoon and is being kept in over night as they think his eye has rejected the cornea he had transplanted 12 months ago.
He had the same op in the same eye about 10 years ago but the letter telling our local hospital to take out the stitches gradually never reached its destination and the 1st cornea was so badly mis-shapen from the stiches pulling that they had to re-do the op in november last year.
around that time, my mum discovered that she had breast cancer and dad being dad refused to follow docs orders and drove mum around everywhere altho he wasnt sposed to be driving for at least 6 months!!!!! (dad is 45 and mum is 44)
he is in hospital overnight (private i think) for tests and scrapings of the eye. hopefully not all will be lost and he will keep his sight however i am trying not to keep my hopes up.
i live about 40 mins from mum and dad knows im exhausted at mo and wont let me come and drive them to manchester. i feel helpless. is there anything you can suggest that i can do to help/advise them on how to cope/deal with this? anything will be appreciated greatly.
